Congratulations on getting an E-Rig! Now we’ll teach you how to use your e-rig like a pro for a satisfying dabbing session!
Some e-rigs like the Pulsar RoK are dual purpose. You can use them for concentrates and herbs as well. These dual-purpose vaporizers come in handy for those who wish to enjoy different modes of vaping effects. Depending on the manufacturer, you can get a quartz coil and a ceramic cup for concentrates and herbs, respectively.
These coils have different modes of temperature and heating setup. Concentrates need a higher, focal temperature to vaporize, hence the need for quartz coils. They heat up faster and can go to almost as high as 1000°F. Ceramic coils have a lower temperature limit and a wider heat distribution compared to quartz. There’s a lesser chance of burning your herbs, allowing you to enjoy full-bodied flavors. However, these coils don’t have enough
Your e-rig will come with a bubbler attachment to help filter vapor, cool down your hits. With an added percolator or diffuser, your rips also get that added moisturization for a smooth dabbing experience. It’s just like using your regular dab rig but in a portable, convenient size.
Just like with your dab rig, the bubbler attachment should have the recommended water level. Depending on the make and model of your e-rig, it can be 1/4 or 1/3 of the water chamber. If the attachment comes with a diffuser, keep an eye on the water level. The perc should be fully submerged underwater for it to function well.
Another thing that we love about e-rigs is that you can set the temperature. Just press the power button on a specific sequence, and it will operate on your chosen heat setting. Most have a pilot light that will tell you that you’re good to dab.
Because the e-dab rig runs on batteries that can overheat, most units have a 30-second window before it powers off. This is a cool fail-safe feature that can help prevent burning your concentrate and ruining your e-rig. However, this also means your nail is going to cool down considerably. This can cause you to waste concentrates and give you a poor dabbing experience.
E-rigs function differently compared to a dab rig or an e-nail. You have a battery and circuitry that work together to keep the rig at the right temperature. However, pulling too deep, hard, and fast will cause the nail to cool down. The built-in sensors will detect that change in temperature and will work double-time to maintain the heat. This can overload the circuitry and shorten the lifespan of your e-rig.
Pull from the e-rig like you’re sipping from a straw or eating soup. Don’t draw from it like you’re hungrily sucking in long strands of spaghetti or ramen noodles. Both the unit and bubbler attachment are small in size, so you don’t need that much lung power to clear out the vapor.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness, as they say. When you maintain your e-rig well and keep it clean, it’s going to stay in its optimal function. Make sure that your nails are free from any residue by doing aftercare. It’s easier to clean an e-rig while it’s still warm, and the left-over concentrate is gooey. You can easily do it by wiping the nail with a Q-tip after every dab.
Is it tedious? Yes. Is it worth it? Of course! Those left-over concentrates can interfere with both the look and function of your portable e-dab rig. These often don’t vaporize well after being exposed to heat. As a result, they stick to the walls of the nails and blacken as they burn. These burned concentrates can ruin the taste of your dabs. By using Q-tips after each and every dabbing, your hits will stay as enjoyable and flavorful as the first one.
Now that you know the right way to use your e-rig, you’ll be able to dab with full confidence. Enjoy your rig’s full features and have fun! Don’t be scared to play with it and experiment with the best ways for you to unleash its full potential. Don’t have one yet? Have a look at our collection and see which one is the best for you!
