A clean nail and nectar collector can make a huge difference in your dabbing sesh. If you find that you’re no longer tasting the flavor of your concentrates like before, chances are you need to clean your nail and nectar collector.
How to clean a nectar collector
When it’s time to clean your nectar collector you will need:
A torch (for the tip)
95% Alcohol (or higher) or your preferred cleaning solution
Cup or drinking glass
Here’s how to clean your nectar collector.
Remove the tip and blow through the mouthpiece to force the water out.
Fill the chamber with alcohol or your chosen cleaning solution. Prop the piece vertically in a cup or drinking glass. Let it soak for an hour. Do it overnight if it’s really dirty.
Place the tip in a Ziplock bag and soak it for an hour.
Rinse the pieces with hot water until the water runs clear. Make sure to remove every trace of alcohol or cleaning solution off of the nectar collector.
Take it out and crunch it to dislodge reclaim and dirt.
How to clean a nail
When cleaning a nail, you will need:
95% Alcohol (or higher)
Scraper pic (for titanium nails)
Here’s how to clean your quartz or titanium nail.
Keep the nail on your rig so that you have something to grab on.
Heat the nail until it glows and the reclaim starts to run.
Dip the Q-tip in alcohol and swab it around the inner surface of the nail. Get as much dirt as you can out. Repeat if necessary.
If you’re cleaning a really dirty titanium nail that has a film of residue at the bottom, use the scraper pic. Scrape off every bit of resin that you can. You can wait for the nail to cool if you want to have a firm grip. Loosen up the resin by torching it again and again until the nail is clean.
Make it a habit to clean your nectar collector and nail after each use. This makes it easy to maintain, and you don’t have to worry about soaking and scraping. Keeping your pieces clean helps your piece function better.
