Forced air or balloon vaporizers is known for its efficiency in producing high-quality vapor from your herbs. They are called forced air vaporizers because a fan in the unit pushes up hot air into the heating chamber. The vapor is collected in a balloon that can store it for several minutes, making vaping convenient and straightforward. If you’re wondering how to use a balloon bag vaporizer, we’ve got it covered here in this blog post.
Before you begin, gather all of the components of your forced air vaporizer. Make sure you have the following:
Make sure that there are no holes in the bag and no big gaps on the screen. Plug the device and you’re ready to start filling the balloon.
Activate your vaporizer by pressing the power/heat button. Set the temperature by pressing on the buttons found on the side of the display button. Some forced air vaporizers like the Storz and Bickel Volcano Digit Desktop Vaporizer come with two temperature indicators: set and actual. The set shows the temperature you programmed your balloon bag vaporizer to be for your session. The actual is the true temperature of the heating chamber. Others have knobs that you turn clockwise to increase the heat.
Most of the balloon vaporizers heat up for about 3-5 minutes. The heating time will depend on the temperature settings you programmed on the vaporizer.
While you’re waiting for the vaporizer to heat up, it’s time to grind your herb. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendation on how coarse or fine your herb should be. Volcano Vaporizers work best with medium-fine consistency.
Pack the chamber of your desktop vaporizer according to the suggested level. Place the screen and put on the cap. This will prevent the herbs from flying inside your balloon bag.
Once you the indicator light or LED display tells you your unit is ready, you can no use your balloon bag vaporizer. Connect the chamber to your vaping device and let the hot air cycle through it. The chamber and herbs should be pre-heated before you connect the balloon bag. Doing so will ensure you get pure vapor and not just hot air. It takes about 5 seconds for the herb to heat up. You’ll know it’s ready once you start getting a small hint of aroma from the vaporizer.
Push the valve of the balloon on the heating chamber and let it lock in place. For dual-purpose desktop vaporizers, connect the whip to the chamber before attaching the other end to the bag.
Stretch the bag to make it easy for the vaporizer to fill it with air. Fill up the bag with enough vapor that you can consume within 5-10 minutes. Do not overfill your bag because it will either cause the vapor to escape, or damage your bag. Make sure your eye level is in the middle of the bag so that you can see the density of the vapor.
Once you got your balloon filled with vapor, switch off air pump. Remove the balloon valve and the heating chamber, or the balloon and the mini whip from the unit. Attach the mouthpiece to the bag to prevent the vapor from escaping. Some models don’t come with a mouthpiece, so you need to put your thumb on the opening.
Draw from the mouthpiece or opening of the bag. Depending on the size and amount of vapor collected, you can get 3-5 solid draws from a single bag.
Now you’re ready to use your desktop vaporizer. Know that the vapor produced will depend on:
