The unit

The Volcano Digital Vaporizer is a modernization (for lack of a better word) for the Volcano Classic. Instead of a knob, you press buttons set the desired temperature for vaping.

The filling chamber can accommodate enough herbs to fill 3-4 balloon bags.

The unit is made in Germany by Storz & Bickel. Since the debut of its predecessor in 2001, nothing can compare to the consistency and quality of vapor produced by the Volcano vaporizer. If ever, the company sets the bar up a notch by providing digital precision to allow better control over your vaping temperatures. It comes with a wide LCD that shows both actual and set temperature. Unlike other digital displays of desktop vaporizers, the Volcano Digital is easier to read because of the large numbers.

The body is made with stainless steel and weighs an impressive 1.85kg. The base is stable, giving you more control as you attach and remove the balloon bag to the filling chamber. Because of its weight, there’s little chance that the unit may accidentally topple over or fall down.

How to use the Volcano

A new Volcano Digital Volcano should be sterilized before first time use. This will help remove any residue that was left from manufacturing and packaging the unit. To do this, plug the unit then turn the unit on and press the “+” sign until you reach the maximum temperature. Let the vaporizer keep this temperature for 20 minutes. Afterward, attach the filling chamber and let press the air (green) button so that the fan will push hot air up. Let it run for 3 minutes

Plug the unit and turn it on to set your desired temperature. While waiting for the unit to heat up, grind your weed and pack the filling chamber. One full load can fill up to 3-4 balloon bags. The display will show once Volcano is at the actual set temperature, and the control light will go off

When the unit reaches your set temperature, press the air button to let the air circulate up to the heating chamber for about 3-5 seconds then turn the fan off. Take the mouthpiece off of the Easy Valve and attach it to the chamber. Stretch the balloon p and fill the balloon until it has enough vapor that you could almost barely see through it. This process usually takes about 28-30 seconds.

Remove the balloon from the filling chamber and attach the mouthpiece. What’s good about the mouthpiece is that it will keep the vapor from leaking out of the Easy Valve. To take a hit, just press the mouthpiece with your lips, and it will allow the vapor to go through.

The balloon bag can be used 50-100 times, and can easily be replaced if needed.

Temperature control with the Volcano Digital Vaporizer is flexible, yet precise. You can set the unit to about 104°F –446°F (40°C –230°C), allowing to vape at really low temperatures. You can set the heat at 1-degree increments to further personalize your vaping experience.

Vaping experience

They made the Volcano Digital Vaporizer so that it can give an exceptional vaping performance. You can get massive clouds with incredible flavor that is incomparable with any other desktop or portable vaporizers.

The Volcano Digital Vaporizers operates via convection, which is vaporizing your herbs through heated air rather than hot plates or direct heat. There’s no combustion going on, so there’s less issue about vaping carcinogenic materials. It’s very beginner friendly because it has a low-temperature setting for milder, smoother vapor. As you get accustomed to the effects of your herbs, you can gradually increase as you continue to vape.

The Volcano Balloon Bag is good enough to last 50-100 sessions. The mouthpiece is beautifully designed to allow you to draw from the balloon with little to no resistance. If you find that the ballon has weak vapor, lessen the load of the chamber. If the vapor is too strong, reduce your load and lower the temperature as well.

Although the chamber and bag seem massive, there’s no need to fully pack the chamber as well as the balloon. You can partially load the chamber and fill the balloon with enough vapor to satisfy one or two hits. It does seem mesmerizing to see the balloon fill up, but that will be a waste of herbs and vapor if you cannot consume the smoke immediately.

Cleaning the Volcano Digital Vaporizer is easy. The included brush makes it easy for you to clean the filling chamber. The screens and air filter are also replaceable. You don’t have to worry about clogs and dirt when you clean the filling chamber and filters regularly after each use. Should you need to do deep cleaning, a simple soak of the filling chamber parts with isopropyl alcohol is enough. The bag can also be replaced with a new one.

The Volcano Digital Vaporizer is the best desktop vaporizer. It does come with a steep price, but there are those who have had their Volcano vaporizers for almost 20 years, and they still work like a charm. It’s a serious investment that will be your vaping companion for years.
